Good things to know when owning a Hobie 20

  • If you put a furling unit on the jib, be gentle on furling the last bit, because of the battens.
  • It is a good idea to check the sail where the batten exit is on the jib periodically as if you allow the jib to luff, you can damage (over time) the exit area of the jib batten and then potentially lose a jib batten.

Good things to have when owning a Hobie 20

  • Mast base pin: to raise and lower the mast

Things that invariably need changing

  • Aluminum rudder pins
  • Rudder cams
