The HCANA Board of Directors

The HCANA Bylaws create a Board of Directors with two components - a non-voting group of Elected and Appointed officers, collectively called the "HCANA Council" and a voting component comprised of the sixteen Division Chairs and the Women's Representative. The HCANA Council deals with the day-to-day operations of the class, and duties specifically assigned by the bylaws. When votes are called for, which typically involve the approval of Area / North American Championship bids as well as major expenditures, the voting component of the Board is called upon to exercise their voting power with the advice of the HCANA Council.

 

The Division Chairs and Women's Representative also represent the fleets and sailors within their geographic divisions.
